About Huge Thing

2017 Edition

Current edition of HugeThing is carried out in cooperation with one of the largest financial company in Europe, namely Alior Bank.

The fourth edition of Huge Thing is carried out in cooperation with Alior Bank within the ScaleUp program – supported by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The goal of the entire program is the commercialization of projects with the highest potential; meaning, initializing market sales of new products or technology licenses, in cooperation with the program’s partners. This edition of Huge Thing is addressed to startups from CEE, who have their MVP – a basic form of product/solution, which has passed its first market testing.

The recruitment process has been divided into three subsequent stages: collecting applications followed by conducting interviews verification and finally preacceleration. The program itself consists of two stages: the first one being focused on using the Lean Startup method to develop projects’ business strategies, wheears the second one is more oriented on entering foreign markets and globalisation itself. Additionally, several visits abroad are schedulled.

Who do we seek for the 4th edition?

We mostly look for FinTech solutions, i.e.: Blockchain, Biometrics, AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT, Cyber Security, Payments, Authentication, or AR (Augmented Reality); projects that can improve performance of the financial companies, in respect of both – their internal processes and building relations with their customers.

We also invite startups whose activities aren’t directly related to the FinTech area, but can improve corporation’s organizational performance.

We look for complete hardworking teams oriented on project development, who are flexible and open to constructive criticism; individuals who can spend 16 weeks intensively working on their projects. In return, we offer the possibility of confronting their projects with experienced professionals from business and technology industry, as well as a hefty dose of practical knowledge.

To apply for the acceleration, startups don’t need to be from Poland, or have a Polish company, however, if they want to apply for a fund up to 45k EUR, they need to be ready to set up a company subjected to Polish law.
